After a nightmarish incident at an elite boarding school, sisters Caroline and Lucien set out to maintain their power and fame by seducing the daughter of the Vice President of the United States. This is the third attempt at a television series based on the 1999 film Cruel Intentions. The direct-to-video sequel Cruel Intentions 2 (2000), which starred Amy Adams as Kathryn Merteuil, was originally a scripted TV series before being re-edited into a feature film. Gellar reprized her role as Kathryn in 2016 in the NBC pilot Cruel Intentions (2016), which was not ordered to series.
